About this Programme
Social Media Training – Session 01 is an interactive learning and networking programme organised by the Institute for Skills Development (ISD) for media professionals, aspiring journalists, digital content creators and individuals interested in the rapidly evolving media landscape.
The programme brings together experienced speakers and practitioners to share practical knowledge, perspectives and experiences across traditional and digital media.
The session will feature three key areas:
• Change Through Media – Fiyaz Mohamed will explore how media can influence individuals, communities and society, and how responsible communication can contribute to positive change.
• Mobile Journalism (MoJo) – Isbahan Sharfdeen, Media Trainer & Digital Consultant, will introduce participants to mobile journalism and demonstrate how smartphones can be used effectively for reporting, storytelling and digital media production.
• YouTube & Digital Content Creation – Thaarik, YouTuber and Digital Content Creator associated with the INSIDE channel, will share practical experiences related to creating content for YouTube, developing an audience and working within the digital content ecosystem.
The programme also provides an opportunity for people working in or interested in media to connect, exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration.
The session is designed to combine professional insights, practical knowledge and participant interaction rather than functioning only as a traditional lecture.
